INNOVATION
Pendyne lead the electrical and functional integration on behalf of Porterbrook for their HybridFLEX conversion of Class 168 and 170 DMU into hybrid DMU, responsible for defining train level modes and functions; creating the schematic design; and developing and providing required modifications. |
FUNCTIONAL INTEGRATION AND APPROVALS
Established a successful partnership arrangement with the client working across all AVENTRA platform products, responsible for the end to end integration of all systems. Working across the full design and validation V Cycle to simplify the complex and ensure expertly precise specification of requirements and validation of functions to deliver a compliant design. OPERATIONAL SCENARIOS At functional and system design stage, performed a full operational analysis of all train interfaces, including driver, maintainer, passenger and equipment interfaces in order to elicit requirements to drive robust design and reduce risk. Later in the design process, Pendyne undertook Day-In-The-Life-Of-The-Train (DITLOT) activities to further reduce risk and refine the design. |
TECHNOLOGY (ADAS)
Integrated the sensors required to provide ADAS functions such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Parking Assistance, Collision Avoidance across the full Jaguar Land Rover product range. Further, had responsibility for the management and specification of all features for the instrument cluster across all product platforms. |
SIGNALLING (ETCS)
Developed and issued the application-specific specification for the on-board ETCS fitment to Sydney Suburban Fleets for Level 1, with progression to Level 2. Managed stakeholder engagement for Australian and UK clients running internal and external workshops covering safety, human factors, Operator and Supplier interaction, ensuring project buy-in and an efficient route to agreement of specification. |
SIMULATION
Developed test feasibility assessments and test scenarios for the Crossrail Integration Facility. Executed testing trouble-shooting and debugging CBTC, ETCS and Train TCMS Software prior to testing on the Crossrail Central Section. Pendyne is an advocate of testing on integration rigs to reduce risk at the earliest possible stage of the product life cycle, resulting in a significantly more robust test program. It is, we believe, essential that both software and functionality are in as mature a state as possible before being tested at a full system level. As experts in this field we are proud to have supported Crossrail in this activity. |
